Finally, a new image.

So, you may remember way back in the beginning of January when I bought some new beads, a few weeks before the gift show. I finally figured out how to get the image I took of them out of the new Nikon, so here they are.

I've already made goldfill earrings out of the labradorite slabs, which are just cool and somewhat more green than this photo shows. Not much flashier, though some of the pieces are awesome. Sadly, overall, it's about as flashy as it looks in this photo, but I still think it's really keen stuff, and I love the cut. I'm not sure yet what I'll do with the aquamarine rough, but it's really pretty neat and possibly my favorite buy. The little carnelian and hematite beads are 3mm rounds for earrings, and the moonstone is nowhere near as orange in real life as it is in this photo. I've no idea why it came out that orange. It's actually more of a taupe-y peach color. But very nice, none the less.

Now that I know how to get pictures out of the "new" camera, I'll try and get my beadshow finds posted and pictures of the new jewelry and my oatmeal mask up. But for now, this is all I got.

Have a good day,
Jenie

So much to do, so little time...

Busy with trying to get reorganized in case I go to France, which will necessitate doing my taxes earlier than usual. Usual being, like, October. Also trying to figure out how to maintain Dragonfly while I'm there, so that I don't have to put it on hold for six months now that business is finally gaining momentum. Bad timing, that.

In addition, I have to move right around the time I come back from France, so that's a stressor and requires all my stuff be packed up before I go. On top of that, I have to obtain a longterm visa. If I can't, the trip will only be 3 months, which may be better in the long run, but will be nowhere near as much fun. Less stressful, though. Either way, I'm going to get to work on a book I've had cooking for the last 2.5 years. It's a nice, big coffee table book I will need to take tons of pictures over. I'm really excited about that and looking forward to the opportunity to get that done. It's an idea very near and dear to my heart. So near and dear I won't even tell anyone about it for fear someone else will beat me to it. I can't tell you how psyched I am to have the chance to get it done, at last. :)

A bientot,
Jenie

Site Maintenance...Oo, Ah! Not.

A few weeks ago, I bought a secure certificate for Dragonfly, and I have just spent the last several hours making all the links go to secure pages and working out some mysterious glitches that surfaced inside the cart. I would be pretty much finished, except for some stupid reason, half of the links in the left navigation column inside the cart aren't going to secured shop pages. They say they are, but when you click the links, they got to regular http: pages. I am saved from further yanking of hair because Tiberius is installing security updates, so I can't do anymore work tonight.

Have I mentioned I hate this kind of thing? Because, I so do.

When I went to the bead show, KJ and I split some neat silver connectors, and I got those in the mail today, along with beautiful silk ribbon my friend tossed in there as a gift. How cool is she?! :)

Happy Valentine's Day, btw. Do something wonderful for yourself today, especially all you sexy singletons out there. By yourself a lovely dark chocolate bar or something that makes you feel good and indulge yourself. You totally deserve it and don't need someone else to tell you you rock. Because you totally do. :)

Ciao, Bella!

Lizzy Redux

The new and improved Lizzy Wishes has just been revamped. It's a nice clean site, easy to navigate and paying hommage to the original incarnation of the site, but with a bit of sly update. I really like it and can't wait to get my camera back from Canon so I can get product there. :)

The shop still has everything from stationery to skin care products, with bags and jewelry and all kinds of stuff in between, and new owner Amy Jagminas is also working to make it mommy friendly with a new kids and baby section. :) Also new is the concept of e-parties wherein one can host a virtual shopping party complete with invites and accrue Lizzy Dollars for spending on the site, as well as a $25 gift certificate for every guest who "books" an e-party of their own. I'm actually in love with the concept of e-parties and will be instituting them at Dragonfly as soon as I have to time to sit down and work it all out.

And as a little added bonus, every 25th Lizzy Wishes shopper from February 9th thru the 25th will receive a $25 gift certificate for the site...how cool is that?! :)
