Long Time, No Post
Hi, All -
Nesting with Style has moved to typepad. I'll update my template when I get time, but for now, Lauren's homey, comfortable blog is at http://nestingwithstyle.typepad.com/. You can also get there via link at the old blog, which is the one listed there on the right. My laptop is not cooperating with Blogger just at the moment, and I was getting frustrated trying to change the link, so I'll do it later.
I understand why she changed...any time you want to make a change to your template here at Blogger, it's a miserable hassle. CSS is just not my friend. Nor, I suspect, is it most people's, outside of the realm of those happy few who webdesign for a living. I have another blog at Diaryland, and though writing posts is a bit of an html hassle, I have to say that changing my blogskin is a dreams, compared to blogger. I can't beat blogger in terms of simple to add posts, though. And free comments. Still, I wish it was easier to design a new template that more adequately reflects who I am.
Thanks to Lauren, btw, I have a new Tuesday Treasure to add, so I'm looking to reinstitute that on Tuesday next. I'm really busy with photography here, so it's sometimes hard to fit in anything else. I'm getting some very nice shots, though, and seeing a lot of great jewelry. It will be fun to get home and start working on new designs. I'm going to do more one of a kind designs and stuff in short runs of 5 or 6. Maybe 10 for some things, but never more than that. I wish I had more money to load up on Murano-style silver and gold leaf beads here. They cose a third or less here than they do in the States. I got some gorgeous pendants the other day for about 1/6 of what they'd cost me at home. I think I'm going to pair them with copper leather, which will go just beautifully with their orange-pink color. I'm making one for me and will have 2 others available. I think with gold-fill findings. That's the other thing. I'm going to start doing more chunky things and gold designs. Gold is making a major comeback.
And on a sidenote, I have discovered the searchlight outside my window is from the Eiffel Tower. How cool is that? :)
