Hey, where's the fire?! Oh, wait...

Chatsworth fire from Woodland Hills, California, 9 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2005

To put the size of the thing in perspective, the bright lights in the bottom right corner are Warner Center, a large clump of office complexes taking up at least 4 square blocks about a mile away. The fire is 3 - 6 miles away and stretches in length probably 10 - 12 miles, and that's just what we could actually see. 3500 acres.

It's been an interesting day.

I thought about you when I heard about the fire on the news this morning and wondered if you were anywhere in the vicinity. You're not in any danger, I hope? The picture is a great shot, tho.

well, i'm a little nervous, now. it's farther away, but it's like tripled in size overnight, and i'm worried it will move into malibu and the winds will push it back our way. plus, it's terrain-driven, so even if the winds don't push it, it could head this way again.

Would that be the Laguna fire of like 94 or so? Coz, I was there for that. Fire came within 2 miles or less of the house. I had stuff in the car, ready to go. That was *fun*. I do not need to repeat it.
